Cris Carnine is a native of Nova Scotia, Canada. She is currently a US permanent resident living on a ranch in western Nebraska. Cris earned her undergraduate Bachelor’s of Science from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, where she studied forest beetle communities. She then conducted research on small mammals in Alberta’s boreal forest, earning a Master’s in Environmental Biology and Ecology. Cris loves biology and worked for various non-profit organizations monitoring badgers, ducks, raptors, and songbirds before taking early retirement to homeschool her 6 children, 2 of whom have now graduated. Cris currently teaches various subjects at a local cooperative with over 150 students. She also coordinates the youth group, hosts an adult “small group,” and leads a youth worship band in her church. She is pleased to join the teaching team at Anchor.
