Anchor P.E. (K-10)

Anchor P.E. is designed to integrate physical fitness with the values and teachings of Christ.

Students engage in various activities including team sports, individual fitness routines, and

outdoor challenges that promote strength, endurance, and coordination. This course encourages physical health, teamwork, and discipline while fostering a Christ-centered approach to life and well-being. Drawing from biblical principles, Anchor P.E. emphasizes the development of character traits such as love, goodness, self-control, humility, respect, kindness, and compassion. Students practice applying these traits in their activities and learn how to honor God with their actions. (Colossians 3:17).  Anchor P.E. teaches students to care for their physical health but also to work in all endeavors as if they were working unto the Lord to ultimately bring Him glory.

This class introduces art basics, starting with simple pencil strokes and progressing to shading and creating backgrounds. Geared toward aspiring cartoon artists, students follow a step-by-step method to design personalized cartoons. Lessons begin with foundational shapes and lines, gradually moving to more complex techniques like shading, proportion, and backgrounds.

Fun with Physics (K-3)

 Discover the wonders of physics in this hands-on, interactive class designed for K-3rd graders! Each week, we explore a new topic—from motion and magnets to light and sound—through exciting experiments and activities. Students have fun learning how physics shapes the world around them while building curiosity and problem-solving skills.

Gourmet Giggles (K-3)

Gourmet Giggles inspires young chefs to enter the kitchen and empowers them to cook and engage their creativity. Students complete exciting food projects and encourage one another along the way. Join this course to have some giggles and become a gourmet chef!

Language Arts Unit Studies (History and Reading) (K-1)

Students learn to listen carefully to fun books being read aloud, talking in the group about the setting, action, and making predictions about what happens next—learning the key skill for reading and writing—words making pictures come to life in the imagination. Kinders expand vocabulary and concepts of both real-world and imaginary-world spaces.

Unit studies in Kindergarten are planned to make each lesson connect to the other lessons of the day, but each day is a stand-alone experience. The key to engagement is fun!

Language Arts Unit Studies (2-3)

Using literary unit studies, this course introduces and reinforces concepts such as setting, main idea, and characters.  Children engage in group discussion and vocabulary-building activities.  Each child creates a lapbook that includes activities around the story being read which encourages reading comprehension and retention skills for later learning. We begin with Aesop’s Fables and move into chapter books such as The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White. To encourage literacy, parents are also encouraged to read aloud at home.

Math: Building a Foundation (K-1)

This is a fun introduction to math fluency. We learn the relationship between counting objects, number names, and recognizing the numerals. Taking advantage of the innate neurological math ability and using Cuisenaire rods and other math manipulatives, students establish a solid foundation for future success in math.

Math: Building Confidence (2-3)

This course reinforces 1st through 3rd grade mathematical concepts using games and various manipulatives.  It focuses on addition, subtraction, measuring, multiplication, and division.  Building a strong foundation in basic mathematical skills, young learners leave the course with a pathway to success in future math concepts.

Music and Movement (K-1)

This is a chance for the youngest students to explore rhythm, pitch, and volume, as well as create movements and drama to accompany the theme of the day. Students enjoy outside activities when the weather permits.

Music and Movement (2-3)

Music and Movement explores various forms of music, instruments, rhythms, and sounds to enhance our unit studies. Music is a wonderful tool for memorization, body awareness, and movement.  Children participate in games and group activities to further their understanding of concepts in math, language, and science.

Science Unit Studies (K-1)

This class finds an area of science related to a theme of the day and explore the vocabulary, concepts, and perform some simple experiments and have guided discussion of observations—talking through the scientific process. Students learn to view through a binocular microscope, make a model of the planets, and create pressed leaves and flowers, among other fun 'lab activities.' Some days students use water for our experiments, but only with washable food colors or washable inks.

Science Unit Studies (2-3)

This elementary, hands-on science course incorporates specific unit studies to enhance the Language Arts studies; however, each science unit stands as an independent in-depth study as well.  The course includes units on The Five Senses, Weather, Oceans, Landforms, Animals, and Plants. Students create lapbooks, participate in labs, and engage in group discussions to gain a better understanding of science concepts.

This class provides students the necessary skills to inspire their own culinary abilities. Students learn proper terminology, how to use different kitchen appliances, and how to create delicious meals, which helps foster independence and encourages eating at home! The weekly lessons cover proper terminology, how to use different kitchen appliances, and how to create delicious meals by implementing a hands-on application of skills.

Exploring Science (4-6)
Students explore the building blocks of creation, the laws of motion, the forms of energy, light waves, the laws of thermodynamics, magnificent magnets, and simple machines. Students are introduced to note taking, hands-on experiments and the 'how' of writing up an experiment and other exciting learning experiences. Students discover the scientific method while learning how to prepare and take tests, work with lab partners, follow instructions, and participate in lively classroom discussions and interesting projects.

Health and Nutrition (6-8)

The structured and engaging approach to this course introduces students to the fundamentals of caring for their bodies and eating healthily. Intro to Band (4-7) 

In this class, students play an instrument from each of the instrument families while they also learn to read notes and rhythm. By the end of the year, students know which instruments they want to play in the orchestra or band.

Intro to Classical Studies (4-6)
To understand how Christ changed the world radically and eternally, step back in time and learn why Scripture calls the classical age “the fullness of time.” Students learn the basic stories that are so fundamental to a classical education and which even now aid in the understanding of how writers, artists, scientists, and musicians have used these stories through the ages in their works.

Intro to Spanish invites 7th-10th grade students to acquire the fundamentals of pronunciation and grammar, practical vocabulary, useful phrases and the ability to understand, read, write, and speak simple Spanish.
